Katja Herbers has been a professional musician since she was a small girl. She is the daughter Vera Beths (violinist) and Werner Herbers (oboist). While growing up Katja Herbers went with her mother on a trip across America in the chamber orchestra L'Archibudelli. The parents of both her father and mother remarried, her mother to Cellist Anner bylsma. They brought her into the world of theater. While growing up she had an au pair who came from Canada.
